Introduction
This document outlines the technology in the new Teams Classroom and their functions.
Classroom Hardware
Inside the classroom you have the following technologies available:
- Omni-directional ceiling microphones

- In-room speakers
- Intelligent person tracking cameras

- Podium
- Teams panel
- Projector with drop down screen
- Rear confidence monitor
- HDMI connection
Room Control Interface
The Room Control Interface is a touch panel used to control all aspects of the room regarding lighting, microphone, and speakers in each classroom. The room control interface in the classroom can be set up in two configuration styles:
- Podium room
- Non-podium room
The podium room looks and feels like our standard classroom podium machines that can be logged into and used for delivering lectures with some new features.

Along the edges of the screen are the new and improved touch screen classroom control buttons. These can control the following items:
- Classroom lighting including on/off or partial lighting
- Podium Microphone including on/off and volume control
- In classroom speakers including on/off and volume control
- Projector on/off as well as freeze frame and no-show functions
- Podium system on/off functions
The non-podium room is configured like a traditional classroom with an interactive wall panel that can be used in a bring-your-own-device configuration for presenting purposes. Below is an example image of a wall mounted interface.

Teams Panel
The Microsoft Teams panel is a physical screen used to conduct Teams calls within the classroom for online or hybrid lecturing of a class. In the podium style classroom, there will also be a secondary panel displaying a Microsoft Teams screen with meeting and screen sharing options as well as a calendar displaying all scheduled events in that room. Starting a Teams meeting with this device can be done with a touch of a button for pre-scheduled meetings and classes from this screen or from a personal device such as a laptop or tablet.
