July 22, 2020 - Security Awareness Training
The IT security team conducted another phishing simulation. This phishing simulation, which impersonated Adobe, was recognized as suspicious by a majority of individuals and many reported it to us. We would like to acknowledge those that have completed the training, are reporting suspicious emails utilizing the Phish Alert Button(PAB), and are helping Humber become more resistant to these types of attacks.
As we continue to strengthen our defences against phishing, we would like to encourage you to report suspicious emails utilizing the Phish Alert Button (PAB). By utilizing the PAB, Humber will gain valuable insight into the type, frequency and patterns of real world attacks, and armed with this information, further improve our security posture. For more information on utilizing the Phish Alert Button, please refer to our quick reference guide at https://its.humber.ca/sites/default/files/guides/PAB.pdf.
In addition to our phishing simulations, we would like to remind everyone of our growing selection of training modules, of which include simple ways in identifying these types of attacks. We would like to encourage all employees to review this material and provide feedback to help us improve the effectiveness of this training. To access the IT security awareness training portal, please visit https://its.humber.ca/awarenesstraining.

June 3, 2020 - Security Awareness Training
Cybercrime continues to pose serious risk to Humber’s ability to provide secure and reliable services to our community. Hackers are evolving and becoming more sophisticated at tricking people into clicking on fraudulent links or opening malicious attachments. This type of attack, commonly known as phishing, not only poses serious risk to Humber’s security (financial, operational and reputational integrity), it can also impact you personally. Because of this, Humber College has determined that security awareness training is required to bolster our community’s immunity to these types of attacks. Our hope is that by providing training to our employees we can empower you as our last line of defence. This training is targeted towards Full-time employees only.
