1) WHY SHOULD I SUBSCRIBE?
Subscribing allows you to reset your Humber password should you forget it. Subscribing also entitles you to e-mail alerts when your password is about to expire (employees) and the ability to change your password online.
2) WHAT DO I NEED TO SUBSCRIBE?
You must know your Humber username and password. Also, your Humber password must not be in an expired state. And finally, you must also have a mobile device capable of receiving text messages.
3) WHAT IF I DO NOT SUBSCRIBE?
If you do not subscribe, you will not be able to use myPassword.humber.ca to manage your password. Instead, you will need to engage the I.T. Support Centre for all password-related support.
4) WHO MAY USE THE TOOL?
Any individual (students, employees, suppliers, and guests) of Humber or Guelph-Humber with an active set of Humber credentials (username and password) and a personal mobile device may use the self-service tool.
5) HOW DO I SUBSCRIBE?
Subscribing is quick and easy. Launch a browser and go to myPassword.humber.ca. Enter your Humber username and then follow the simple on-screen instructions. Subscribing takes less than a minute.
6) WHAT IS INVOLVED IN SUBSCRIBING?
You will be asked to enter your mobile device’s phone number. A code will then be sent to your mobile device via text. You will then need to enter said code into the self-service tool to validate your subscription.
7) HOW WOULD I RESET MY PASSWORD?
Once subscribed, you may re-visit myPassword.humber.ca at any time to reset your password. Simply enter your username, click the Forgot Password button, and follow the tool’s simple password reset instructions.
8) HOW DOES AUTHENTICATION WORK?
The tool will text an authorization code to the mobile device you used to subscribe. Simply key said code into the tool when prompted and the tool will allow you to reset your password.
9) HOW LONG ARE PASSWORDS VALID?
Passwords expire 365 days after they are set. Expired passwords may not be used for authentication purposes and must be changed. Note that you may not reuse any of your previous 18 passwords.
10) WHAT IS HUMBER’S PASSWORD POLICY?
Passwords must be at least eight characters long and contain three of the following: an uppercase letter (A-Z), a lowercase letter (a-z), a number (0-9), and a special character (!, $, #, %, etc.).
11) IS MY AUTHENTICATION DATA SECURE?
Yes, all tool activities are logged and all authentication data is encrypted to not be readable by anyone. Also, multiple failed attempts to reset one’s password automatically unsubscribes one from the tool.
12) HOW DO I GET HELP IF I NEED IT?
